Joanna Penn has done the work and now she shares how we can be successful too! Thanks for a great book. It’s my go to resource for ideas to expand my author business. I’m still working at it and Joanna’s book stays on my desk to remind me of the possibilities!

The information just kept coming with each new page. A very interesting and well written book. I think Joanna just might make it as an author!

This book has all the things that truly successful authors aren’t telling you in their writing manuals. Writing a book that’s up to par could take several months to a few years to do. But this is information all authors need to know, especially those who aren’t published yet. If you’re not willing to work for more than a decade with no pay and invest thousands of dollars you might not get back, then it’ll be impossible to make anything from a book you toiled over.

This book is great and gave me a lot to think about. Highly recommended if for nothing more than providing idea after idea after idea.

Penn offers a lot of advice and resources, with links to many helpful sites and references. I've made a lot of notes and have several ideas to try out now.

,This book covers how to use your writing in various ways to make a living from it. Step-by-step Joanna takes you through what it means to be published, how your rights (ebook, print, audio,etc.) work and how you can exploit them, how to make an income from older books and how to do some of the publishing stuff yourself.

She even mentions great products you can use that she uses herself – and I’m definitely going to follow her advice! It just makes sense: she already made the mistakes and learned from them.

I liked the parts where I actually have to think about my own motivations for doing things – I bought the workbook one (the only one I could get from my local online store) and I’m really happy I did. There’s so much to think about, decide and then turn into actions.

“Stop waiting for permission. You don’t need it. Stop waiting to be chosen. Choose yourself.” These are powerful words. Writing your book, querying agents, waiting to be accepted, getting rejected (sometimes just because they already signed something similar a week earlier) – those are things that eat away at your confidence as a writer. Going Indie, choosing yourself, is empowering.

I highly recommend this book to all authors who want to make a living with their writing.

I really enjoyed this book! It was an easy, well organized treasure chest of resources for authors! I was going to pass it on to friends that are also writers, but I have highlights on nearly every page to go back and reference and therefore, I will buy them their own copy. I really appreciated all the information on the different author organizations, the rights licensing information, international publishing considerations, and all the publishing format options. I will be purchasing more from this author! I suggest reading this book with a highlighter in hand!

This might be helpful for those who haven’t read much about marketing for authors. I found only a bit that really stood out for me that I wasn’t familiar with, but the rest was familiar. So it is good to know I’m on the right track.

This book is a great little resource for those looking to find out how to monetize their writing. It is useful for both fiction and non-fiction authors. Great place to get an overview of the options and begin to put together your writer's business plan.

I bought this book to expand my knowledge on monetizing my writing and it was an incredibly helpful resource. Easy to read, full of excellent, down-to-earth advice with tons of links and further reading. I read it cover to cover and feel incredibly motivated to take my writing business to the next level. Joanna Penn is extremely transparent about her process and very generous in her advice. Loved this book. Have bought many others from Joanna Penn.

I am much more of a print book person than an ebook or audible person but JP explains things well

This new edition is jam-packed with more great tips and ideas for ensuring that writers have multiple streams of income - vital in the current marketplace. Joanna Penn's style is clear, informative and easy to digest and she is always ahead of the game. Highly recommended.
