How to Write Non-Fiction: Conclusion

“A book is not an end. It is a beginning.”

—Natalie Goldberg, Writing Down the Bones

I hope this book has been useful and encouraged you to take the next step in your author journey. Writing and publishing a non-fiction book is achievable, and you can reach readers with your words.

Writing this second edition has reminded me how far I’ve come on my author journey since I wrote that first non-fiction book in 2007.

Back then, I had no idea that words on a page could transform a life so completely. I was stuck in a corporate job I hated, crying at work, and wondering what I was doing with my life. But the process of writing that first book helped me figure out what I really wanted to do with my life and set me on the path to where I am today as a full-time author and creative entrepreneur.

Of course, your goals and your definition of success will be different to mine, and you will discover different things as you write. That’s all part of the creative adventure.

Writing is hard work, and there will be days when you wonder why you started your book or why you bother to continue. There will certainly be times when you want to give up.

But your words matter, your experience matters, and your book could change your life, and those of many others.

So, if you’re still hesitating about writing and publishing your non-fiction book, please take that first step.

Happy writing!
